Department of Psychiatry

Introduction

The department provides continuous acute and planned psychiatric and psychological care, including counselling services for the University Hospital Olomouc, but also for some surrounding medical facilities. Psychiatrists, psychologists and non-medical staff, including a social nurse, are involved in the diagnostic and treatment process. The latest psychotropic drugs, methods of biological treatment, psychotherapy and auxiliary treatment procedures (regimen treatment, occupational therapy, movement, relaxation and others) are used in treatment. The department also plays a significant role in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, non-medical healthcare professionals and psychologists.
